**2/24/18 - ADOPTION PENDING!**
Troy is a baby cattledog mix, born around Thanksgiving, 2017. He is said to be 3/4 Australian cattledog and 1/4 mini Australian shepherd. He acts like a cattledog! Troy has a docked tail and amazing color eyes.
Troy is everything a cattledog should be. He is confident, bold, resilient and also very affectionate with his people. He loves to cuddle. Troy gets along with other dogs, but some dogs do not appreciate his strong personality and outgoing play style so he needs to be supervised when in the company of other dogs. Troy is both food and toy motivated so easy to train. He also loves praise and human touch.
We are hoping to find an experienced cattledog home for Troy. Also, he would benefit from some puppy classes. Right now he is set on grabbing pant legs, or heeling his foster family.
Even though Troy is a cattledog mix, he is so much like a cattledog we want to include this info for people interested in possibly adopting him...
ACDs are a strong-willed working breed and demand diligent training and socialization. They are not recommended for first-time dog owners. Anyone considering this breed should do their research. Troy is sponsored by the Idaho Domestic Animal Welfare Group. Upon approval, adopters must be willing to travel to southwest Idaho to meet him and will be asked to sign a contract stating that he will be neutered by the time he is 12 months of age.
His adoption fee is $200 and there is a $200 neuter deposit required. The neuter deposit is fully refundable when proof of neuter is provided at by 12 months of age.
