SMILIN' JACK HAS GONE MISSING! JACK was live trapped one year ago on the Washington coast. He had been fostered for nearly one year before being adopted in July to a family living west of Portland, OR. JACK's story is very unique in that he is a feral dog. He became homeless while still a puppy and somehow managed to live and survive on his own. Although in the year that he was fostered, he made great strides to becoming a domestic companion dog, he retained much of his feral attributes. He will not willingly approach anyone nor will he let anyone approach him. He is not the least bit mean or aggressive. On 20July2010, JACK's new family had a medical emergency and JACK was left home alone in the back yard. Not yet comfortable in his new home, he became frightened and escaped. He has been on the run since then. So far there have been no reported sightings. JACK's foster mom and his new family are devastated and desperately want him back. JACK's adoptive home is in the Rock Creek Golf Course subdivision, west of Portland and just north of Highway 26. JACK is wearing a red collar with a blue dog bone tag. If you see JACK, please call his foster mom immediately. Please do not run after JACK. He is very dog friendly and if you have a friendly dog with you, you may want to see if JACK and your dog will approach each other. If you have food available, please leave some out for him. JACK's foster mom is Vivian [with Seattle Purebred Dog Rescue, Border Collie Rescue and North Beach PAWS] and can be reached at 360. 580. 9927 or eliottd2002@yahoo.com THANK YOU! |
