Tess is a true rescue.  She is 6 years old with no history upon coming into the shelter.  She is a sweet dog but takes a bit to warm up to people.  She is fine with people she doesn't know but is just aloof.  Once she settles in she loves you.  She absolutely loves my husband.  Maybe she was previously a man's dog.  She can't be left in a fenced yard or she will escape.  She has some dings on her face, probably from pushing through some fencing.  She is fine in her crate and really wants to sit on our stoop and hang out.  She follows me around during chores but mostly just likes to hang out outside.  She does not have much experience inside and is just starting to acclimate to being an inside dog. 

She is spayed, UTD on shots, including rabies, microchipped and wormed.

Meet J.D.  He is a sweet, 35 pound male BC.  He is a bit shy at first and you need to go a little slow with him.  He warms up and settles in nicely.  He gets along fine with other dogs and boy does he like to play ball.  He won't challenge another dog for a ball though.  He is crate trained and so far has had no accidents in the house. 

J.D. will need a kind and patient owner who doesn't overwhelm him with new things.  He just has to figure out he is safe and things are fine before moving ahead.  He really warms up and loves people and has a fun personality that makes you laugh. 

He won't be adopted out as an outdoor only dog.  Dogs need to be inside where it is safe and warm and they can be with their people.

He is neutered and he is UTD on shots, wormed and microchipped.

Bobbie is a sweet 6 year old Border Collie whose owner died.  Before her death she had dementia and fed Bobbie constantly.  She also did not get any exercise living with an elderly person.  She is now in rescue and on a weight loss plan.  She is trotting about here and is doing really well.  She is a loving soul who really needs a person to call her own.  She is heartbroken that her owner died and is looking to bond with someone. 

She does ok with the other dogs as long as they don't get in her face and if they do she barks at them.  She will be a beautiful dog when she loses weight and wants to run and play like the young girl she is. 

Consider giving this good girl a new lease on life by adopting her.  She just wants to be a cherished pet.  The family said she was a model citizen in the house and she seems to be here.

Dakota is an eight month old Border Collie from Eastern Oregon.  He was purchased and the family could not keep him because of his activity level.   He has lots of energy and needs activity.  He loves people and other dogs.  Dakota has been living in the house and doing well with house training.  He is very interested in herding the other dogs and is very interested in my livestock.  Dakota needs a lot of training and exercise to keep him happy. 

He won't be adopted out as an outdoor only dog.  Dogs need to be inside where it is safe and warm and they can be with their people.

We know Max doesn't look like a classic Border Collie don't hold that against him. He is quick to learn, devoted to his human and can run faster than any dog here. With medium to high energy needs he will entertain himself or run and chase with the pack. Mostly he just wants to be where his special people are. His short coat makes him easy to keep groomed and he licks his feet clean just like a cat.

Max will walk nicely on leash and we are working on a more reliable recall. Until now he lived with a family having young children of which he was overly protective so older children would be best. 

Weighing less than thirty pounds he loves to cuddle sharing the couch during TV time and will sleep at the foot of your bed. He's a little shy but not reactive to new people and is friendly with other dogs. Max stays in his crate when we are away. 

OH BABY! Meet our little man Doc. OK so not too little, at 6 months he is a leggy guy. He does GREAT with other dogs and dog savvy cats.  Doc would just love another dog to play with.

Prior to being taken in by OOHS, he did not get much exposure to new things. So he is in need of a family that will continue to keep him social and relaxed around new people.  He has come leaps and bounds since we took him in. A little coaxing and patience is all it takes to become this guys new best friend. His foster mom is getting him good face time with lots of great dog folks and he is learning that the quicker you warm up to someone the quicker you get your belly rubbed. And once he likes you - HE REALLY LIKES YOU! Loyalty just comes naturally to this guy.

Doc is super smart and eager to please, quite athletic too. He has already mastered running through the culvert, jumping over logs, jumping into the car, sitting for his dinner.

Doc loves our daily walks in the woods.  He enjoys running with the pack, sniffing new things and herding his favorite foster brother in an attempt to elicit a game of chase. True to his Border Collie roots, he is never far from his humans and a quick whistle or call of his name has him back at their side in an instant.

Back at home, he can be found in the yard "helping" with chores (we are trying to figure out how to get him to actually put the rake to good use instead of just dragging it around), chasing a ball or spontaneously running back and forth in a fit of pure joy. In the house he likes to find a quiet spot next to a human to curl up for a nap. He sleeps in his crate and spends time there when his foster humans are at work. No accidents or chewed up crate pads so far. Doc has not had an accident in the house yet and has never "hiked a leg". His foster humans make sure he gets plenty of in and out so he can take advantage of the outdoors for his needs.
